Intel Xeon 6 is built around two different processor approaches: Granite Rapids Performance-cores (P-cores) and Sierra Forest Efficient-cores (E-cores).
Granite Rapids focuses on compute performance and is designed for workloads such as databases, enterprise applications, virtualisation, HPC and AI inference. The current eServers Xeon 6 range uses Granite Rapids processors.
Sierra Forest is designed around high core density and efficient scale-out processing, making it more relevant to workloads such as containers, microservices and other applications that can distribute work across many cores. Sierra Forest is not currently part of the listed eServers Xeon 6 configurations.
Both current eServers processors provide 24 cores and 48 threads, but they target slightly different requirements.
The 6527P runs at a higher 3.00GHz base frequency and is paired with NVMe storage and 5Gbps connectivity in the current London configuration. It is the more natural choice when application performance, fast storage and network throughput are priorities.
The 6521P runs at a 2.60GHz base frequency and is available with a large 12-drive HDD configuration in Worcester. It makes more sense when storage capacity is more important than maximum local storage performance.
Xeon 6 also brings DDR5 memory support and PCIe 5.0, providing the platform for high-bandwidth memory and modern storage or networking hardware.
Configure NoweServers currently provides Xeon 6 configurations in London and Worcester, allowing customers to choose between different hardware and storage profiles to perfectly match their workload requirements.
Network connectivity is provided through 15+ tier-1 network providers and partners, including NTT, Zayo, Lumen, Colt and RETN, ensuring high-speed, unmetered, and resilient routing for your enterprise applications.
eServers combines Intel Xeon 6 bare metal with UK deployment options, different storage configurations and unmetered connectivity. Customers can choose from current configurations or speak with the technical team about requirements for CPU, memory, storage and bandwidth.
Yes. Granite Rapids Xeon 6 processors are well suited to database workloads that benefit from dedicated CPU performance, DDR5 memory and fast storage.
Both have 24 cores and 48 threads, but the 6527P has a higher 3.00GHz base frequency, while the 6521P operates at 2.60GHz and is currently offered with much higher-capacity HDD storage.
Yes, particularly for CPU-based AI inference and supporting AI workloads. Supported Xeon 6 processors include Intel AMX acceleration. For large model training and highly parallel AI workloads, dedicated GPUs are generally more suitable.
eServers currently offers Xeon 6 configurations in London and Worcester, with different CPU, storage and network configurations available.
Yes. Current Xeon 6 configurations include 1Gbps and 5Gbps unmetered bandwidth, depending on the selected server.
If you're unsure whether the Xeon 6521P or 6527P is right for your workload, eServers can help match the CPU, memory, storage and network configuration to your application.
